Vidya Jyothi Dr. Prof. Lakshman Alwis, as the founding Chairman and Principal Architect of both Design Consortium Limited (DCL) & Design Consortium International (DCIL), Emeritus Professor and former Dean of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Moratuwa, is a pioneer in Architectural Education and Practice in Sri Lanka. A passionate advocate for conservation and cultural heritage, he led key national institutions such as ICTAD and earned numerous accolades, including the SLIA Gold Medal and Lifetime Achievement Award.

Being both a practitioner and an academic, he was instrumental in imparting a well-rounded approach to shaping and guiding the Architectural profession for over 40 years. His enduring legacy highlights an unwavering dedication to advancing Architecture, Education and the Construction industry in Sri Lanka.
